Not sure if you’ve been watching Slate and the whole RAVEN multi-touch control surface but for a while it was mainly for Pro Tools and I think Logic.
The newest version is compatible with Live among other DAWs and they also released a smaller/more affordable version of the RAVEN the MTi2.
Well, it’s $999 so definitely not cheap, but…you know….not as much as the other ones.
Anyway, what do you think about something like this? Part of me thinks it would be cool for automation, editing audio/midi, and even the whole fader thing…maybe (I still dig a real fader/knob).
Not sure I’d get much use out of the “midi pads” on the screen though, but there’s a lot of other functions it can do. I could also see using this as a remote away from my computer/Push, to give me access to Live while working with various synths and gear. I think the editing and automation functionality is the most interesting aspect for me personally, wouldn’t mind trying one out just to see how useful it could be.
What do you think about it?
This is the next level
Definitely looks pretty cool, I’d like to try it out in person to see how well it works.
Hi SJ, I’m back again… just my opinion, but, there seems to be an added layer, between Live and the screen, I’m talking about the that mixer window and the dashboard at the bottom with the non-Ableton buttons, etc… so for me, the benefit of touching the screen isn’t worth dealing with more buttons… but it is pretty… and would impress if looking to wow clients… hey been working on my jazz chops the past year. Need your PUSH2 tutorials to get back in the box!
peace & love
Yeah I feel you man. Not really something I think I’d use personally, but it can be cool for others. I’d have to try it and see. Though the Raven is about more than just the touch screen, that extra layer is actually part of the product. They are supposed to have various workflow things you can do with the Raven software beyond just touching the Live interface. Again, I haven’t tried it lol. Welcome back!
I like the concept as well as the design and software ,aside from earning new commands for Live for me a cluttered screen is to much as i use 3 now, altho there is nothing like a hardwired board for the real feel
But being a tech junkie…well thumbs up to Raven
