Push 2 – Play The Pitch Of A Drum Rack Pad In Keyboard Mode

Posted by saintjoe 2 Comments

One of the questions I often get when it comes to making beats with Push is how to spread the pitch a drum rack pad across the entire keyboard range.

This is useful when you want to do drum or snare rolls and want to be able to play the pitch at the same time, or if you have an 808 in a drum rack and you want to play with the pitch as you record it in.

Though Push 2 currently lacks a dedicated pitch or “keyboard” mode in the drum rack, you can accomplish the same thing quickly by using the convert button.

Check the video out and let me know if you have any further questions!

yo famo is this possible with the push 1? And if not, how can you do this within live itself?

Hey fam. Push 1 doesn’t have the convert function like Push 2. In live you can expand the drum rack and drag the simpler, sampler, or whatever instrument is there onto it’s own MIDI tracks.
