Live 9.7 Using 16 Level Velocity Drum Rack Mode on Push 2

Another cool feature of the Ableton Live 9.7 update is the 16 level velocity mode when using a drum rack. This lets you take any pad and scale it across 16 velocities similar to the MPC or Maschine, which is great for manually adding in natural variation to your tracks or even creating a “delay out” type of sound.

Check out this video to see how it works. No matter how you chose to use it, it’s definitely a welcome addition. I’m still hoping they take it further and add a 16 level pitch/tune mode as well!

If you have any questions let me know!
