If you’ve seen the 4 note bassline video I posted then you know how well Push allows you to come up with ideas using patterns. For those of you that are looking for a quick way to come up with new chord ideas on Push without being a virtuoso in theory or Push itself, this video may spark some ideas for you!
This is a way I constantly use to come up with new ideas as well as practice getting my hands and fingers familiar with playing Push. You start in a 4 note or 4 pad section and just move around only within that section, adding extra notes as you go and changing up the direction of playing.
The more you do it you will quickly be able to break out of that 1 4 note section and start adding more notes or even connecting various 4 note sections to come up with new ideas. It may seem simple, and that’s because it is! However, just because it is simple doesn’t mean it can’t be a powerful tool for you.
As always, let me know if you have any questions.
